For a Better Barangay

“If you are going to write your punong barangay, what will these be?”

· To have a seminar about Clean and Green program for the barangay, and help the people in the community know their health responsibility.


· To implement the garbage segregation program and help the whole community about their waste disposal problem.


· To encourage them use the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), and become an Eco-friendly community.


· To implement a strong order of curfew to all teenagers in the barangay, allowing them to stay late up night to 12 midnight only, considering those who have school appointments-college students mostly.


· To have a curfew for the party being held for a family gathering or compound activities. This is to maintain peace and order in each household.


· To have at least 1opm as the curfew time for playing loud music. This is to avoid conflict between the neighbourhoods because of the disturbances cause to their houses.


· To enhance the road for the betterment of the people’s transportation.


· To have a fund raising and support the medical needs of the barangay, and also to be ready for the emergency cases.


· To make sure the emergency needs of the barangay, including the fire trucks, ambulance, and police cab. This is to respond immediately for the cases that needs immediate responses.


· To see also the hospital conditions, if all the patients there were cared and being treated properly. This is to know that their hospitals don’t abuse the patients and really cure them not just for money reasons.


· To have a free medical mission in the barangay so that those who have no money can say that they are still cared and helped by the professionals.


· To improve the water supply of the barangay, by providing additional water stations, where those families who have no water connections can get their water needs.


· To monitor the schools, and help supplying some of their needs. This is to encourage the students to learn and be active in school when they see that their barangay supports their development to have a greater life.


· To have livelihood programs for the “Ilaw ng Tahanan”, for the mothers. This is to spend some of their time in making some handicrafts and also earning, this would help their financial needs and also the barangay’s progress.


· To have at least once a month community program involving all the citizens, aiming to develop their social needs. This is to see the real situation of their community, and to encourage all of them to spare some of their time and help building up a better barangay.


· To issue copy of all the barangay expenses, so that the citizens will know where their taxes go. This will make their minds clear, and will not regret of paying their taxes.


· To implement the loading and unloading zone strictly to prevent accidents and traffic in or out of the barangay.


· To impose a rule to alcohol drinkers to drink inside their houses. And most likely, avoid engaging in fights.


· To listen and make an open forum for the thoughts of the members of the barangay, have meetings every month to discuss the previous events happened and to discuss activities to do to improve the barangay.


· Don’t allow dog owners to let their dog roams around the village to prevent having case of rabies and scattered wastes in the road.


· To improve the barangay covered court, where most of the boy’s teenagers gather for their sports activities. This can be a good place for them to develop themselves rather than being exposed to vices.


· To have a seminar about the rights of the citizens, and their duties in the community. This is to persuade them work with the community and be a better person.


· To encourage all those who have no work to participate in cleaning the roads, barangay hall, etc. To earn even a little in spending their time or work voluntarily.


· To have a seminar for girl’s teenagers about developing themselves in many aspects. Encourage them to be a part of a livelihood program and somewhat learn, while earning also. This can also make the barangay productive.
